ABSTRACT CONTINGENT

Abstract Contingent were an Omagh three piece formed in March 1980. The band were Roy McLaughlin - vocals, William Armstrong - lead guitar - synthesiser and Brian Lynn - bass.

Abstract Contingent recorded four self-penned tracks at Slane Recording Studios in Co. Meath in 1980. The tracks were ‘Benefit Letters’, Red Rose’, ‘Stupid Order’ and ‘The Empty Thought Overture’ and it took them just ten hours to lay the recordings down with the help of John Dee (producer/engineer). The band had an individual post punk sound.
