Blah Blah Blah formed in 1982 from the ashes of teenage PuNk band Serious Mistakes. The band were Topher Loudon on guitar and vocals, Ian Wilson on guitar and vocals, Adrain McCluskey on bass and Philip ‘Rufus’ O'Callaghan on drums.

By 1984 that band built up a healthy local following in Belfast during the next couple of years playing venues such as The Pound. The Cresent, The Labour Club, The Abercorn and The Errigle. Out of town gigs were played too such as a Saturday afternoon residency at the Dromore Arms. During this time guitarist Topher worked occasionally as a bar man at The Pound Club and Ian Wilson worked at Good Vibrations Record shop. In March 1986 the band recorded an eventful radio session for local station Downtown. Unfortunately on route to the station, guitarist Topher Loudon got lost and the session had to be recorded as a three piece which didn’t give a true representation of the bands sound although one track from the session ‘Heavenly View’ was issued as a free fleix disc with local fanzine Helden. St . Vitus Dance were also featured on the flexi disc. Blah! Blah! Blah! also secured some high profile gigs and support slots in 1986 such as support to the Waterboys at the Ulster hall Belfast on the 7th April and later in the year a slot at The Guinness Festival at Queens University, a concert which was broadcast by the BBC radio.

By the end of 1986 the band decided to relocate to France although this decision wasn’t for bassist Adrain McCluskey who remained in N. Ireland as at the time he was training to be a nurse. So, after initially setting up base on a camp site in Carnac the band befriended and recruited local bassist Francois Conan into their ranks.

Despite enjoying considerable success in France throughout the 1980’s and several offers of record deals from the likes of New Rose Records and Barcley in France and Ira records of Italy, the band elected not to sign and continued touring. Three songs were also recorded by French TV channel FR3. The band also played a number of French festivals such as Interceltique, Tamaris, La Route du Rock and Le Gibus in Paris.

During their existence the band notched up over 200 gigs and along the way they trod the boards with the likes of The Troggs, The Godfathers, Guana Bats and The Soup Dragons. The band eventually split up on the last day of 1989.

After the split Topher Loudon and Philip ‘Rufus’ O'Callaghan formed a group called Dye. Dye had acoustic guitar in it and a more folky feel, using more traditional time signatures and also acoustic ballads. That group had a reasonable run of success too and when it folded Topher started to play solo acoustic gigs and eventually setting up a studio recording CDs for bands such as The Churchfitters which he also joined.

Today Topher and Rufus both reside in France and play in a band called "We Dont Know". They are currently recording an album.  Topher is also in the process of setting up a pre/post production studio and is also doing post-sync and video.
