Etc. Etc. were formed in Belfast in 1980 by ex Tearjerkers Paul Maxwell (vocals) and Paul MIlwaine (Guitar). Greg Lindsay (drums) was also an ex Tearjerker having played a few live dates with the band towards the end of their existence. Joe Sharpe (bass); Joe had previously played in Blue Steam and Big Self. Stephen Millaghan completed the line up (keyboards). The band cited their influences as Ultravox! & The Cure.

The band’s debut recording was a four track demo tape recorded at Downtown Radio studios in Newtownards on14th October 1980. The session was produced by Stephen “Rastas” Nelson R.I.P.

Songs recoded were; “There Is Nothing Close”, The Same Won’t Happen Again”, “Motorway” & “At The Present Time”. The demos received a favourable review by Ross Fitzsimons at Hot Press.

A further 12 track cassette appeared in 1981 with the band now featuring another ex Tearjerker, Howard Ingram (guitar & bass). A two track cassette in 1982 featuring the tracks “Scanning The Crowds” & “Yellow Crane Tower” before the band split. All releases were issued on the Blue Rhythm Audio label.
