FOUR IDLE HANDS

Belfast band Four Idle Hands were formed in 1985. They released two singles on Good Vibrations Records and featured alongside U2 on “Breaking Sound Barriers” compilation album that was released in the U.S. All releases appeared in the 1990’s.

The band were Davy McMahon Vocals/Guitar, Tommy McMahon Bass/Vocals, Stephen (Boon) Rooney Keyboards/Vovals and Paul Burke, Drums. The McMahon brothers had both featured previously in Rathcoole punk bands Pure Mania and Tarot XIII.

The band gigged extensively throughout the U.K. and Ireland and received positive reviews from the British music press for their "Intense" live performances and their "Poignant and admirably unfashionable" sound. The band finally split in 1996.

Sadly, Davy McMahon passed away on Thursday 14th December 2023.
