Hi Rise
hailed from west Belfast and formed in 1981. They comprised
Peter Burns (guitar, vocals), Peter Dolan R.I.P. (guitar), Micky
McCourt (vocals), Joe Lloyd (bass) and John Cullen (drums).
They quickly assembled a live set together consisting mostly
of original compositions such as “Life On A Screen”,
“Too Hard To Please”, and “How Can I Loose”.
Hi Rise played a mix of pop /new wave material written by Peter
Burns and Peter Dolan and even had an original reggae number
entitled “Lady Luck” in their set. They played mostly
support slots with local bands such as 10 Past 7 and the Bankrobbers,
usually in the west of the city. They played their final gig
in the summer of '82 at an impromptu outdoor concert in Avoca
Park.
