LENNY & THE LAWBREAKERS

Lenny & The Lawbreakers

Lenny & The Lawbreakers were a four piece band formed in 1978 with one of the snappiest band names around.  The band consisted of Jeff Woods, Chris Calder, Neville Hutchinson and Colin Walker. They released one single in 1979 on the Rip off record label and vanished without trace. Their single, recorded at Hyde Park Studios with George Doherty as producer was issued in September in a limited run of 1,000 copies, all housed in a die-cut picture cover. Both sides are very enjoyable. The flip side Suzy 'D'is a self-penned Powerpop song with some well-crafted vocal harmonies, while Me And Bobby McGee is their version of Kris Kristofferson’s Country-Rock number which they explode into a solid Powerpop / Punk tune.
