SERIOUS MISTAKES

This three piece PuNk band from East Belfast were formed in 1979 by three fifteen year old teenagers, namely Philip ‘Rufus’ O'Callaghan on drums, Adrain McCluskey on bass and Topher Loudon on guitar and vocals. Adrian and Topher were neighbours!

The band played the legendary Harp Bar on a couple of occasions (see poster above) as well as The Pound. Topher recalls one of their Harp Bar appearances “We played there with the Belfast Band Association, sharing the bill with two other bands. There was a big fight at that gig and I remember the DJ getting decked”

Quite a few recordings of the band were made from that time period, before they eventually disbanded in 1982. The band members would later remerge in Blah! Blah! Blah!

On 29th March 2022 Spit Records released Shellshock Rockers Vol. 3, a compilation CD of previously unreleased tracks, all salvaged from old cassette tapes. This included Serious Mistakes track 'Me And My Crazy Desire', recorded in 1982.
