SPITIN' IMAGE

Spitin’ Image were a Belfast five piece, made up by Tony Rosa Adams (Guitars & Vocals), Seamus Cassidy (Guitars & Lead Vocal), Gerry Ashmore (Drums & Vocals), Jimmy Rodgers (Bass & Vocals) and Paul Pedlow (Keyboards & Vocals). The group released one 7-inch EP in June 1981 on their own S.I. Record label. Tony had met fellow guitarist Seamus Cassidy while gigging in Florida and later played in London based outfit FBI. The other three members of the band had all previously played in Belfast band Katmandu. The band also had the track ‘Too Good To Talk To’ included the Now In Session compilation album released in 1983, made up from Radio Sessions recorded to the local radio Station. Their sound was described at the time as “hard-hitting light rock incorporating influences from existing rock-reggae forms”. Certainly not Punk or New Wave, but worthy of a mention nonetheless.
