Subject Matter were short lived early 80’s punk combo who played gigs at The Pound, sharing the bill with bands such as The Defects and Riot Squad. A four piece, Phil Thompson, guitar, Simon Martin, bass, Michael McCausland, drums and female vocalist. The band dissolved as quickly as they arrived on the scene.

Cut to 25 years later and three original members, with a new female singer, Elizabeth Watton emerged as Killing Susan. They even recorded some old Subject Matter songs on their self released album ‘Scream’, released in 2008.
