Formed in Belfast in 1980, The Wax Dolls and played a number of gigs around Belfast, including one at Orangefield Girls School in East Belfast on 9th June 1980, as support to The Defects. They ran through a mix of covers by TRB, The Undertones and the Sex Pistols.They even had the confidence to incorporate some original material in their set, namely, ‘Tommy Was A Turncoat’ and ‘Out Of Hand’. The Wax Dolls split towards the end of 1980.

The Band were Ian Livingstone, guitar, Ian Mason, bass, Bertie Long, vocals and Ian Purdy drums.
