White Trash were a Portadown based band formed in 1978 by four teenagers, siting The Undertones and The Clash as influences. White Trash ‘ allegedly’ made their live debut on Friday 24th November 1978 at Edenderry Parochial Hall with a write up in the local newspaper (Portadown News) the week before, adverting the gig. I say allegedly as the following week, in a letter to the editor, from Jack Shearer, Honorary Secretary of Sego Youth Group, stated that no-one had given permission for such a performance and that the whole thing was a publicity stunt, or a ‘punk joke’. Maybe someone out there can clear things up for us! The band had at least one original composition in their set, with a track called 'Users'.
The band were, from left to right above - Marty 'Marks' McClatchey (Guitar), Mark 'Absent' Anderson (lead singer), Micky 'Manure' Hall (Drums) and Pringle Poor, (Guitar).
